Broad Meadows Up And Running After Major Flooding

Earlier this month winter storms caused significant flood damage at the Broad Meadows Middle School. There was significant damage to a basement level mechanical room that caused the power and heat in the building to be knocked out. Luckily students only lost one day of additional classes. Paul Hines, Public Buildings Commissioner, and city workers worked around the clock to get everything back up and running. A sincere thanks to all of the staff that pitched in to get the school back up and running properly!

Atherton Hough Polar Plunge Event Raises $1,000

The Houghs Neck community came together again this past Saturday at the Public Landing to participate in the annual Polar Plunge fundraiser for the Atherton Hough Elementary School. PTO officials said they are hoping to buy alternative seating for the School’s Classrooms. The goal is to have two alternative seats in each classroom (18 classrooms total). The seats are specifically designed to help hyperactive students. If you’d like to get involved with the Atherton Hough PTO you can reach out to them on their Facebook Page here.
